Akhil Bhaktiyoga Foundation is an international religious organization based on the philosophy of Bhaktiyoga. What is Bhaktiyoga? According to Srimad Bhagwat geeta, when Arjun asks lord Krishna:

एवं सततयुक्ता ये भक्तास्त्वां पर्युपासते ।
ये चाप्यक्षरमव्यक्तं तेषां के योगवित्तमाः॥

Which means that between those who are eternally absorbed in your veneration (Bhakti) and those who worship the ascetic and amorphous aspect of ‘Brahma’, who could be considered more competent and supreme or who amongst the two is dearer to you? On hearing this Lord Krishna tells Arjun that although people practice many different customs and sacraments to achieve my benediction but Bhaktiyoga is the most desirable and humane practice which brings the being closer to me. For those who devote themselves to me and my service are the ones most superlative in this world.

Akhil Bhaktiyoga foundation is an approach towards the fulfilment of the age old lacunae in the history of the entire mankind – the pursuit of blissfulness. There can be no other way of achieving such blissfulness other than the only stable philosophy of Bhaktiyoga. Bhaktiyoga is not an external investigation but an internal exploration. Bhakti Yoga is the highest stage of spiritualism. True bhakti or devotion flourishes only after one achieves wisdom. Bhaktiyoga, in the true sense, means saturation of the mind with the devotion and love for God, surrendering everything else to the lotus feet of God and dissolution of one’s ‘aham’ (ego, i.e. existence as a specific individual). Unlike mundane love, bhakti is not instinctive blind emotionalism or outburst of passion.

Bhaktiyoga is the essence not only of Sanatana dharma (the eternal religion or Hinduism) but all the religions, cultures and philosophies of life prevalent in the whole world. Without this all the religions, philosophies, knowledge, science, rituals and practices are incomplete and imperfect. Like a priceless gem of the ring, it is not only valuable but an ornament of all ascetic and spiritual pursuits.

Petty, self-centred, dogmatic and self-gratifying life-style, the unlimited desire for worldly pleasure, the materialistic, hedonistic and epicurean way of life where in self-negation and self-sacrifice have been replaced by self-indulgence and self-gratification. The rational being has degraded him to a lusty-brute. Consequently, immorality, sinful way of life and violence are like a volcano emitting the lava of extremism, intolerance, terrorism and anti-social activities. Mutual faith is gradually fracturing, family breaking and the very fibre of all the social structures is weakening. Man is a human being in form only but devoid of humanitarianism.

In the name of religion, culture and scriptures, high-sounding deliberations and senseless sermons are coming out of the lofty pulpits. Selfless actions, knowledge, wisdom, devotion have lost their meaning and like artificial flowers become our external ornaments and decoration. Vaulting ambition, money-oriented life style and narrow epicurean hedonism have polluted and contaminated everything.

By watering the branches we cannot aspire to make the tree alive and green. The root has to be watered and irrigated if we want to survive, flourish and bloom. The all consuming fire of ill-will, malice and intolerance lest become all pervading we should save the tree and Bhaktiyoga is such a stream of water through which not only the tree would survive but flower. If the world wants to break the fragments of narrow domestic walls, it will have to turn to the philosophy of Bhaktiyoga. The ambrosial taste of Bhaktiyoga can be enjoyed and experienced through spiritual pursuits and dedicated listening of ‘Hari katha’. Bhaktiyoga provides us a solid spiritual plane, transforming our life and making it altruistic and selfless.

As maharaj ji says “Bhakti-Yoga is a real, genuine search after the Lord, a search beginning, continuing, and ending in love. One single moment of the madness of extreme love to God brings us eternal freedom. “Bhakti”, says Nârada in his explanation of the Bhakti-aphorisms, “is intense love to God”; “When a man gets it, he loves all, hates none; he becomes satisfied forever”; “This love cannot be reduced to any earthly benefit”, because so long as worldly desires last, that kind of love does not come; “Bhakti is greater than karma, greater than Yoga, because these are intended for an object in view, while Bhakti is its own fruition, its own means and its own end.
